Courteney Cox has opened up about her cosmetic procedures and revealed what made her rethink her choices.
The 57-year-old actress, who is best known for playing Monica Geller in Friends, previously came under fire after fans accused her of altering her appearance too much and going too far with her cosmetic procedures.
Now, Cox spoke to Sunday Times Style and admitted she didn’t initially realize just how “strange” she looked after her plastic surgeries.
The actress also admitted to trying “different injections” to combat the aging process until she finally realized she was being “crazy” and she decided to age gracefully instead.
“There was a time when you go, ‘Oh, I’m changing. I’m looking older.’ And I tried to chase that [youthful appearance] for years,” the Friends star said.
“People would talk about me, I think. But there was a period where I went, ‘I’ve got to stop. That’s just crazy.’”
While cosmetic procedures are now a thing of the past, Courteney admitted she is still experimenting with various beauty products because she still feels pressured to look good.
“The scrutiny is intense, but I don’t know if it could be more intense than what I put on myself. I’m a product wh*re. I will try anything,” she added.
Cox also shared her thoughts about her next milestone – hitting the age of 60.
“Oh God, it’s so hard to even hear or say. I can’t believe it. There’s nothing wrong with being 60, I just can’t believe it. Time goes so fast,” she explained.
“There’s no question that I am more grounded, I’ve learnt so much in my life — what to enjoy, what to try to do more of and what to let go of. I feel like I’m young. I have a lot of friends in their thirties and I don’t think about it. To me we’re the same age until I actually study it.”
