A terrifying picture recently unfolded in New York City after a towering Mexican Navy training ship lost power and rammed into the Brooklyn Bridge.
The heartbreaking visuals left many stunned as to how the mass tragedy incident arose, and now, authorities have confirmed that two people have been killed and as many as 19 people were injured in this dramatic turn of events.
The chaotic incident was witnessed by so many horrifying onlookers as panic and fear gripped the air.
The Mexican navy vessel was said to be 297 feet long and 40 feet wide, where its sailing mast height reaching up to 48 meters, and ending up making its way up the East River on Saturday. This is when it suffered a mega power failure, as per reports from the BBC.
The New York City Mayor confirmed on X how the Mexican Navy tall ship lost power and crashed into the Brooklyn Bridge.
Out of the 277 people on board during the time of the incident, 19 sustained serious injuries while two remain in critical condition, and two are confirmed dead. As per the police, the ship was making attempts at a maneuver near the bridge when mechanical issues sent it directly into the bridge’s abutment.
