A 9-year-old child has tragically passed away after an incident at a water park in Pennsylvania.
The incident took place at the Hersheypark Water Park on Thursday. This is where lifeguards were seeing a child who appeared visibly in a distressed state at The Boardwalk. This happens to be one of the park’s biggest themed water attraction.
Lifeguards reportedly jumped in to perform an immediate rescue, as shared by The New York Post, but despite the tireless efforts, the child’s life couldn’t be saved.
He was rushed to the nearby Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, but was declared dead shortly after his arrival.
The CEO of the park has now issued a statement on the matter after calling the incident truly heartbreaking.
He added how the lifeguards were quick to act after seeing the child in a distressed state. They pulled him out and performed all lifesaving measures. Soon, paramedics arrived, but despite everyone’s efforts, the child never recovered.
‘Our hearts break for this child and his family. We extend our deepest condolences for their loss’- the message mentioned. They vowed to give the family respect, and out of privacy, they won’t be releasing any personal details regarding the incident at this moment in time.
