A small plane has crashed into the Long Island Sound, which is located off the coast of Connecticut.
Local media outlets were quick to confirm how emergency crews were seen rushing to rescue all of those on board.
The Piper PA-32 went down during the morning hours of Sunday, just ten minutes after it took off from Bridgeport-Sikorsky Airport at about 10:30 am.
Before the plane went down, a call for assistance was made, and the plane was soon directed to the Tweed New Haven Airport to make a quick emergency landing.
The pilot was able to send his coordinates before the plane sank, the fire chief shared. The Coast Guard, alongside the Brandford Fire Department Marine, arrived at the location, located the parties inside the water, and then brought them safely aboard.
Tweed Regional Airport shared how the plane was eight miles from the airport when the pilot declared that there was an emergency. This led to ground personnel immediately getting active with emergency response protocols and notifying the relevant authorities.
The plane is believed to have crashed six miles from the airport and then sank into the water with all of its occupants suffering from minor injuries, as shared by the Coast Guard.
Sources have confirmed that both people on board were rescued and pulled out alive.
