One waitress in New York City was recently left fuming after her not-so-generous guests ended up leaving her just a 10% tip on a bill worth $700.

According to reports from local media outlets, the woman revealed how it was just not the right behavior and for that reason, she’s blasting them on Twitter so others can learn more about tipping rules and the culture in the US.

The waitress explained how it’s common courtesy to leave a tip worth at least 20% of the overall bill in the US. But since her clients were Europeans, they had no clue. And on that note, she was appalled at how miserly they behaved.

But in her defense, she claimed that the customers stayed in the restaurant for hours and appeared to enjoy the food and drinks. Moreover, she even recalled how one customer was American, and yet the amount left was just ‘shameful’ according to her.

Now, she’s taking her rants online and the news is leaving many netizens divided. As the news went viral online, so many started to argue against the claims she was making.

One netizen said that it was just so important for people to understand that Europeans are not used to giving high tips because of the fact that servers in that part of the world are usually paid well.

Moreover, she says that the blame should be on the awful late stage of American capitalism, and not the patrons who belong to other nations.
