US President Donald Trump has recently shared that he would be allowing up to 600,000 students from China to enter the USA to pursue their studies.
The move is widely being viewed as a reversal of his previous policy and stance on China and comes as trade negotiations between both sides begin.
Trump spoke to reporters recently about how he’s hearing so many stories that the US is banning students from China, but he reassured them that this is not the case and that there was nothing they should be worried about.
But the fact that such a huge figure was quoted has left many stunned, including so many MAGA supporters who feel that the President might be a little too generous to allow this.
This decision is aimed at better the tensions between China and increasing support for those studying in American universities that rely on Chinese Student tuition.
Some MAGA supporters, including Marjorie Taylor Greene and Laura Loomer, mentioned how they were in strong opposition to the President’s announcement and wouldn’t support his student visa increase for Chinese nationals. In the past, Trump administration actions were seen targeting the likes of foreign students with stricter visa regulations and bans, especially those at Harvard.
