Cher has been urged to take caution after confirming that she is dating a music producer 40 years her junior.
The 76-year-old Goddess of Pop was rumored to be dating Alexander Edwards, 36, after she was spotted holding hands with the young man following dinner in Malibu last Thursday.
Confirming her fans’ speculations, the If I Could Turn Back Time hitmaker said “love doesn’t know math” as she revealed her new beau treats her “like a queen.”
The singer also explained that the pair met during Paris Fashion Week back in October.
While Cher appears to be completely smitten by her new romance, fans quickly warned her about her partner’s dating history and suggested she could be in for a major heartbreak.
Edwards previously dated Amber Rose, Kanye West’s ex, from 2018 to 2021. The pair share a 3-year-old son and their relationship came to an end after Rose discovered the music producer had been cheating on her with multiple women.
“I’m tired of getting cheated on and being embarrassed behind the scenes,” Rose previously announced.
“All 12 of y’all bums (The ones that I know of there’s probably more) can have him. Y’all very much knew he was in a relationship with a baby and y’all decided to f**k him anyway.”
After Edwards’ troubling past reemerged, Cher’s fans quickly warned the singer that he might be using her for exposure.
Cher, however, appeared to dismiss these fears by saying she was in love but “not blinded” by it.
Back in 2021, after Rose spoke out about her partner’s cheating, Edwards owned up to his actions while seemingly trying to justify them saying he likes women.
“I love her, though. That’s, like, my best friend, the mother of my son. I love my stepson too. But… I like women,” he said in response to Rose’s bombshell statement.
“At the end, I don’t think anybody can be happy or successful if you’re not truly yourself, whether other people understand it or blame you… It’s just who I am, and it’s not how she wants to be loved.”
As for Cher, she’s far from new to dating younger men and seems to have enough experience in the area to handle any obstacles she might encounter with Edwards.
The singer previously dated several younger men including Tom Cruise, Richie Sambora, and Ron Zimmerman.
