King Charles has opened up about his daunting and frightening experience while battling his cancer diagnosis.
The Monarch was seen breaking his silence through a written statement that he shared with the public. In that, he expressed gratitude for all the kind words and blessings from supporters, which he dubbed as the profound impact of human connection.
He also shared how compassion can shine through during the bleakest periods of illness.
In that note, he mentioned how he was glad to return to his royal duties after being given clearance by his team of health experts.
The King then shared the reality of how thousands of people are diagnosed with cancer but go through the battle silently.
‘I can vouch for the fact that it can also be an experience that brings to light the very best of humanity’- he added.
The King’s shocking diagnosis comes after the news was shared with the public last year in February after he stayed for three nights at the London Clinic in Marylebone for a procedure related to a large prostate gland. Further tests revealed that he had a form of cancer.
King Charles III has been receiving weekly treatment at a London hospital and resumed public duties last April. He has since then embarked on an intense schedule of public work. During his address, the King lauded the selfless care and comfort provided by those in that sector.
