Black smoke was seen engulfing a central London district recently after a horrifying blaze arose in an underground tunnel.
Currently, residents have been advised to stay clear of the area, with more than 70 firefighters sent to tackle this huge fire.
Surrounding roads in Holborn were also ordered to be shut, with travel chaos reported as the teams battled to control the scenes.
Some 10 fire engines and nearly 70 firefighters were called to the area on Theobalds Road after the blaze was reported in the underground utilities tunnel.
LFB station commander mentioned how the teams are busy trying to put out the blaze with a fire affecting the electrical cables in the underground tunnel.
This is likely to be a protracted incident, he further revealed. The incident is giving rise to major disruption in the Central London region, with several roads closed and a safety cordon in place right now. ‘Bus routes were also diverted, and people were advised to avoid the near where possible’- the public statement went on to read.
