President Trump just shared more about this year’s recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors.
He’s already thinking about selecting names for the upcoming year, starting with himself.
The suggestion came as one of the newly announced recipients faces questions about the critical comments made regarding Trump before.
Trump shared how singer George Strait, Michael Crawford, actor Sylvester Stallone, and KISS would be a part of this year’s honorees. But if Trump had his way, the gala next year would see him honoring himself.
The President shared how a Kennedy Center Honor would be on his personal bucket list, where he shared with reporters how all those influential people were among the most prestigious awards in the performing arts. I wanted one, but I was never able to get one!
As muffled laughter echoed across rooms, Trump continued to share: ‘It’s true, I would have taken it if they had called me. I waited and waited and waited and said, The hell with it!’
Trump explaining all the reasons why he feels he deserves it has people wondering what is going on and if that’s even legal. ‘I thought to myself that I will become the chairman and I will be the one to give myself that honor’- he revealed.
He then shared more about, ‘Maybe next year, we will honor Trump, ok?’ But not everyone is finding the news amusing. Some feel it’s not a good sign of leadership to put yourself first all the time.
