Former American President Jimmy Carter is breaking his silence for the first time since his beloved wife, Rosalynn Carter’s death.
According to reports from local media outlets, Jimmy reflected on the loving and beautiful bond and relationship that he shared with his life that spanned for decades.
Rosalynn was the country’s former first lady and was known for her loving smile and beautifully delicate gestures. She died at the age of 96 during the afternoon hours of Sunday at her residence in Plans, Georgia.
Meanwhile, another press release spoke about how her family was close by her side during her final moments. And that is something they are grateful for as they bid her farewell, one last time.
In another accompanying statement that was released, the former US President went on to mention how Rosalynn shared in everything that he did. She was like his partner in all the biggest and smallest things that he embarked upon.
“She gave me wise advice and guidance as well as the right kind of encouragement that I required. And as long as she was there by my side, I knew that the right person was there to show me love and support at all times”- he added.
In another accompanying statement, the 99-year-old former President says it was hard for him to see the lady he loved so much go through dementia before his eyes. It was on Friday last week that she was administered under hospice care. Her diagnosis of the medical condition arose in May of this year.
In February, Carter decided to terminate medical intervention and allow hospice care at the couple’s home.
The couple reportedly had 22 grandkids and great-grandkids.
And as Carter’s term for presidency kicked off, she was right there by his side to serve as an advocate and as his true adviser.
Later on, she adopted more efforts to market deeds like mental wellness and making sure people realized how mental health was so important in today’s day and age.
