King Charles reportedly stunned a group of veterans by joking and claiming it’s wise to keep drinking the whiskey, while offering health advice to a 101-year-old war hero during the royal visit.
The 76-year-old monarch made the quip to Richard Brock, a D-Day veteran, while touring the Lancashire in his role as Duke of Lancaster, and Radar Online can share that his quip was a hint at his sad reality.
The cancer-stricken monarch is now resisting and refusing all the grueling chemotherapy treatments while hitting the bottle to drown all of his sorrows.
Charles happened to be in Lancashire to participate in the historic ceremony of the keys at Lancaster Castle, which is a tradition that dates back to the year 1851.
Later, during one reception inside the castle, he met Brock, who served with the East Lancashire Regiment during World War II. The duo was seen sharing a short exchange about both aging and resilience.
Brock spoke to reporters about how he had just told him that he was amazing for his age.
While it might seem to be a light-hearted joke from Charles, it hides a deeper and darker reality.
Charles continues to resist going to his chemo sessions and turning them down on so many different occasions.
