Roughley was jailed for 14 years, but the parents are breaking their silence on how they were given false hopes by the nursery worker that their baby was just fine, but that was not the truth.

The worker tightly swaddled her before further restraining her with a harness, then chose to cover her with a blanket.

The worker then failed to carry out the right checks on the distressed child before finding her unresponsive and blue during the afternoon hours.

Her colleagues and paramedics desperately tried to revive Genevieve, but her condition was just irreversible, and she was pronounced dead in the hospital later on that same day. Instead of telling the truth, they said their daughter was fast asleep, but that was not true.
