Christian Bale is proving himself to be an actual superhero after spearheading a $22 million foster home village to keep siblings together in Palmdale, California.
The Batman star revealed his plans that were 17 years in the making after being inspired following the birth of his daughter Emerline, now 20, whom he shares with wife Sibi Blazic.
Speaking about how common it was for foster siblings to be separated, the Welsh star spoke to CBS Sunday Morning: ‘It’s approximately 75% of the time, so you can imagine the trauma of all of that!’
‘Of being taken from your parents and you lose your siblings, that’s just something that we should not be doing!’- he added.
The village, which has also gotten some financial aid from Christian’s fellow A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio, would open next year and entail several homes that surround a giant garden with trained foster parents to assist families in staying together.
Asked if he had ever experienced the care system himself, the actor mentioned: ‘I don’t think you have to have a connection to foster care in your past. It’s all just a basic understanding of the society’- the message read.
