A chilling scene unfolded today as a vehicle erupted into flames on the iconic bridge between Manhattan and Brooklyn.
A blaze was seen sending thick black smoke rising into the sky, forcing authorities to bring traffic to a standstill in Brooklyn directions, snarling rush-hour flows.
The incident arose on the Brooklyn-bound side of the Brooklyn Bridge as per the FDNY.
As per officials, the call came in at about 2:06 pm for a single vehicle fire. No injuries were reported so far as per the FDNY. However, NYPD warned drivers on X that due to the vehicle fire in the Brooklyn bound lanes of the Brooklyn bridge, they need to expect delays and consider alternative routes.
No official cause of this fire has been released so far but the vehicle appears to have been fully engulfed before crews could get the fire under control.
A local did share through social media that couple of minutes ago, they were cycling through the Brooklyn Bridge in the bike line. And they just couldn’t see what was going on, as there was so much smoke but they did see a car on fire.
