Tragic reports are speaking about veteran country song writer Brett James and his wife’s death during a plane crash last month.
The duo were traveling with their daughter in a small plane near Franklin, North Carolina when all of a sudden, the aircraft encountered a technical fault and came crashing down.
The plane was identified as a Cirrus SR22T and was registered in James’ name. It had departed from Nashville’s John C. Tune Airport and was making an approach towards Macon County Airport when it encountered a tightening spiral, rolled inverted, and then crashed just a quarter of a mile from the runway.
Witnesses described the incident as a rocking side to side before impact. No survivors were present in the incident and the family had reportedly just celebrated their stepdaughter’s 28th birthday.
The crash site was adjacent to the Iotla Valley Elementary School. Fortunately, students and staff were reported safe. James was said to be a highly respectable songwriter and co-wrote hits such as Jesus Take the Wheel and When the Sun Goes Down and had amassed a staggering 500 plus songs with more than 110 million combined album sales.
Investigations into the crash by the NTSB and FAA are still taking place with no real cause of the crash revealed so far.
