The 15-year-old boy in question was playing with his friends in Chittagong, Bangladesh, when he came upon the idea to hide in a shipping container.

While waiting for his friends to find him, however, the boy fell asleep only to find himself trapped in the container that was shipped across the ocean in the meantime.

Six days later, the container reached its destination in Malaysia and the boy was rescued.

The authorities have since established that the boy entered the container on purpose while playing hide and seek and that this wasn’t a case of human trafficking.

It was also concluded that the boy had no intention of entering Malaysia or leaving his hometown for that matter.

The minister went on to reassure the public that they “are not linking this to human trafficking because the initial investigation found that he entered the container, fell asleep, and [was brought to] Malaysia.”
