A 14-year-old boy who disappeared while taking part in a group trip in California was found dead.

Divers with the North Shore Dive Team were able to locate the remains of Andrew Roberts at about 10:40 pm local time on Sunday, June 8.

Authorities shared more heartbreaking details, including how the teen was part of a group trip and had informed others that he was going towards the poolside.

However, they had not heard from him since then, and that got many of them so worried.

He was last witnessed at the Big Beach area of Hidden Valley Lake at about 4:15 pm on Sunday, authorities mentioned during a statement.

Additional details, including the cause of death, have not yet been released to the public as the family is mourning his devastating tragedy.

The teenager had graduated recently from the Obsidian Middle School, as per a statement shared by the school officials, who spelled his last name as Robert.

Andrew happened to be 14 years old and had just celebrated his promotion to high school, a milestone that he attained with the help of all of those near to him.
