Bad Bunny fires back at Super Bowl halftime show backlash in ‘SNL’ monologue: ‘You have four months to learn Spanish’


Rapper Bad Bunny replied to the backlash surrounding the NFL’s decision to book him for this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show as he kicked off the 51st season of Saturday Night Live.

The 31-year-old Puerto Rican native, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, mentioned how she was so excited to be named the headlining act for the major game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara in February but urged critics to learn Spanish as they only had four months to do it.

The star shared how he was super excited for the honor of doing the Super Bowl. He added how people all around the globe lover his music and that makes him so happy, he added in the monologue shared on Saturday.

The rapper broke out his native tongue for a 30 second message before he rolled out a message to his critics. ‘Especially all the Latinos and Latinas here in the US who have worked to open doors, it’s more than a win for myself, but a win for us all’- he added.

“Out footprints and our contribution to this nation is huge and no one will ever be able to take that away from us or erase it”- he mentioned.
