Farian was residing in Miami when he passed away, leaving behind a legacy that spans decades.

During his career, he was involved in one of the pop music’s biggest scandals after it was discovered that his proteges, boyband Milli Vanilli, had been lip-synching to their songs.

In a 2022 interview with Bild, Farian said that he underwent operation, having a ‘pig heart valve’ inserted in his chest as his valve shrank.

After the procedure, he said that he was prescribed a drug similar to Viagra.

“This is a similar active ingredient to Viagra and has a nice side effect. But to be honest, I’m not thinking about sex at all at the moment. Today I enjoy a good meal and am just happy that I’m still alive,” he said.

The minimally invasive surgery involved surgically replacing a faulty human valve with a new one from a cow or a pig. The new valve usually lasts up to 15 years.

Farian continued: “Mick Jagger also received exactly the same heart valve. I have a good pig in me! And I’m very grateful for that.”

He also worked with music legends such as Stevie Wonder and Meat Loaf.

In an interview with German news agency DPA, he said: “The success was a huge surprise. I had always thought I wouldn’t make it. It didn’t look like it at first.”
