President Donald Trump’s quest to put an end to birthright citizenship took a massive blow on Thursday, which is two weeks since he celebrated his Supreme Court victory on the exact same matter.
This is the latest step in the ongoing battle between Trump and different judges in states far over his plan to say no to citizenship for American-born kids of illegal migrants.
A federal judge located in New Hampshire mentioned how Trump’s plan is blocked on the national level, and he was the one responsible for that. He certified a class action lawsuit on the matter filed on behalf of all future kids who would be impacted by this order.
After the recently announced ruling by the Supreme Court that blocked federal judges from stopping Trump through countrywide injunctions, a class action lawsuit was said to be the only other option to put an end to the president’s actions.
The high court gave Trump the executive order that would stop birthright citizenship from coming into play and handing him a major victory.
The court shared a 6-3 ruling in favor of Trump, and all six conservative justices sided with him at the time. Speaking at the White House, Trump reacted at the time and said it was amazing news and a major victory for his administration. Now, it’s certainly the opposite.
