The news comes after 22 years since the device initially hit the market.

This new move will reportedly affect devices running Blackberry 7.1 and even those of the earlier times such as BlackBerry 10 and Blackberry PlayBook OS 2.1. However, the company has mentioned that it will not affect all those models or devices that are powered by Android.

On the other hand, the company has reiterated how data usage may also be affected by this. But certain applications like Desktop Manager, Blackberry Link, Messenger, Blend, and World might work with only limited functionality.
