The Army has refused to name the female pilot killed aboard the military helicopter that collided with a passenger plane flying into the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Wednesday.
An announcement was made on Friday where the army did finally disclose the names of the other two soldiers who were inside the chopper who died.
However, when asked about the female pilot who was driving the chopper, the army shared how the victim’s family chose to keep her identity hidden from the public.
‘As per the request of the family, the name of the third soldier is not getting released at this moment in time’- the Army Public Affairs mentioned on the website.
The soldier was said to be an experienced pilot with more than 500 hours of flight experience as per the Telegraph.
The Army shared on Friday how the investigations were still taking place to determine what exactly went wrong and why the chopper was flying so dangerously high.
They also wished to understand why no orders were followed after the control tower asked them to go around the plane.
