The Black Hawk helicopter that rammed into American Airlines flight 5342 made a very deadly mistake, it was shared recently.
On Tuesday, authorities were able to confirm how the chopper was flying 100 feet too high, which was a clear violation of the strict protocol for altitudes, which it can reach safely.
Information from the air traffic control radar showed how the Black Hawk was flying between 251 feet and 349 feet of elevation. This data was taken from the NTSB, which showed how the plane was at 325 feet when it crashed.
Brice Banning who is the lead investigator shared more on this front including how the whole investigation is very complex. There’s many pieces lying here and the team is working hard to gather the information.
Yesterday, another major event arose regarding the investigation and how the black boxes shared more on the crew having a verbal reaction and the sound of the impact was so terrifying, and could be heard till the end.
Another leading error is how the security system for detection was switched off before the crash. This meant that it couldn’t be detected by the plane and that shouldn’t have been the case.
