A new official photo of Prince George has been released to celebrate his ninth birthday.
Taken by his mother the Duchess of Cambridge, the portrait shows the young royal smiling and couldn’t look happier as they went on a trip to a UK beach earlier this month.
Wearing a polo-style top, the birthday celebrant posed with water and a sandy shoreline behind him. He is said to be growing up into a polite and contented lad who enjoys being outside.
George and his sister Princess Charlotte have left Thomas Battersea Prep School and will soon go to a new coeducational prep school in Berkshire, along with their little brother Prince Louis.
He has undertaken many public engagements, including a visit to the Wimbledon Men’s Finals. The young prince and his siblings also made appearances during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
During the Trooping the Color, the Cambridges were seen on Buckingham Palace’s balcony as they watched the fly-past of aircraft.
When George attended the Wimbledon tennis final with his parents this summer, he greeted ball girls and boys and also the military personnel in the Millennium building.
When Kate was asked about her son coming to Wimbledon, the Duchess of Cambridge asked her son: “Is this your first time? It is, isn’t it?” to which the young royal responded: “Yes.”
Friends of the Duke and Duchess are determined to bring their son up respecting and knowing the role into which he’s been born while balancing that with being a kid.
Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge was born on July 22, 2013, weighing 8lb 6oz. He will be the 43rd monarch since William the Conqueror got the crown of England.
