US President Biden has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.
According to local media reports, the President had only recently delivered a speech filled with gaffes, leaving plenty wondering about his current mental state and if he was feeling alright.
The White House has confirmed that the president is positive for the virus, just a few days after returning from his high-profile meeting in Saudi Arabia with Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.
The 79-year-old commander in chief is deemed to be the country’s oldest ever president and his old age has put him at a high risk of severe sickness or death, confirmed health experts.
Biden is said to have received a total of four shots for the Pfizer vaccination, as a means to reduce the extreme risks associated with the disease.
The President was recently seen Tweeting a message on Twitter where he reportedly thanked all of his well-wishers for all the love and support during his time of recovery. He also added how he was doing well and experiencing very mild symptoms.
Dr. Kevin O’Connor who is the president’s physician mentioned during a statement in the morning how Biden is only having mild symptoms that included fatigue and a dry cough, other than that he is doing alright. These symptoms are thought to have begun yesterday during the evening hours.
Meanwhile, his administration did admit that Biden was still in charge and is keeping busy with his usual dealings in the office.
A video message featuring the US president showed him having a raspy voice, adding the following lines: “Hey folks! I guess who may have heard that I have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. But I am doing perfectly fine”- he concluded.
“I am getting a lot of work done and will continue to do so. I just need your support and we all need to keep faith that it’s going to be okay”- he further revealed.
