Bette Midler has spoken out and blasted the Supreme Court after their decision to overturn the Roe V.
Wade ruling.
Following the overturning of the 1973 case that provided women across the country with basic abortion rights, ‘pro-choice’ protests have erupted around the nation.
Among renowned public and entertainment figures who blasted the SCOTUS’ decision was also 76-year-old Hocus Pocus star Bette Midler who definitely doesn’t believe that individual states should have the right to make abortions illegal.
In an apparent slap at the ruling and old men in power, the actress suggested Viagra, too, should be banned.
“Time to ban Viagra. Because if pregnancy is ‘God’s will’, then so is your limp d***,” she wrote.
Midler’s post quickly went viral and racked up hundreds of thousands of likes.
This isn’t the first time the 76-year-old voiced her anger over the controversial ruling that could see abortion rights wiped out entirely in some states.
“They did it. THEY DID IT TO US! #SCOTUS has overturned #RoevWade, enshrined in the Constitution as settled law for over 50 years,” Midler tweeted shortly after the decision.
“How dare they? This #SCOTUS is absolutely tone-deaf to the will and even the actual needs of the American people. #WakeUpAmerica.”
Speaking out against the Supreme Court were countless other celebrities including stand-up comedian Wanda Sykes who suggested America is no longer a democratic country.
“I’m a black gay woman and I have a daughter so I’m not doing so well right now. I’m a little salty. I’m a little salty right now,” she said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
“It just sucks man, it really does, you know? It’s like the country, it is no longer a democracy, right? We’re – it’s no longer majority rules.”
