A young family from Alabama is in a state of grief after a devastating boat accident shattered their lives forever.
According to reports from local media outlets, the victim was identified as 27-year-old Brittney Sherman, who hailed from Alabama.
Sherman happened to be boating in Bayou Sara near Saraland in Mobile County on June 15 alongside her partner, who was 30-year-old Cody Sherman, and the couple’s four kids.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed to Fox News Digital that two boats were involved in the collision that arose at about 5:50 pm on Sunday.
Authorities shared how the incident involved a 20-foot Avid Control Console vessel that was occupied by the Sherman family, and it also featured a 26-foot Regulator Center Console.
According to officials, the impact of this collision caused Brittney to be thrown overboard.
Despite this fast arrival of emergency news, search efforts were impacted by the Bayou’s murky waters, making it super difficult to locate Sherman in the aftermath of this crash.
On Monday morning, the personnel from the search and rescue resumed the mission to try and find the missing mother. At nearly 10:50 am, personnel retrieved Sherman’s body nearly 100 yards from the same spot that she had entered the water.
