The state of Turkey has reportedly evacuated more than 50,000 individuals from 41 different locations in the popular tourist destination city of Izmir.
Sources from local media outlets were seen sharing how it first broke out for the second day, as strong winds pushed flames across villages and forests.
The forest minister for the country shared how winds hit overnight at 40 to 50 kmph in the cities of Kuyucak and Doganby.
Most of those who had been evacuated were seen near the fire zones of the popular Western resort of Izmir. Also the state media mentioned how the operations at the popular airport where tourists can enter and leave the city was currently suspended, with flights put on hold due to the fire.
The magnitude of the blaze was said to be intense, even on day two, as the skies turned black and temperatures reached a new high. There were sights of planes, helicopters, and more than 1000 first responders, including paramedics and firefighters, who were deployed on the ground to fight this blaze.
Earlier, stronger winds had grounded all helicopters, and soon after that, witnesses described seeing white, thick smoke-covered hills. Sources shared how a similar pattern of wildfire had the same region.
