Two children were confirmed dead, and a third was unresponsive after a sailboat slammed into a barge and capsized in Florida.
This incident led to five children getting thrown overboard. The horrifying tragedy took place yesterday, right before noon, as rescuers were seen pulling out victims from Biscayne Bay after the sailboat began sinking into the water.
The US Coast Guard confirmed that two kids had passed away in the collision after being taken back to the Ryder Trauma Center, while a third child was rushed to the hospital and is not responsive. The fourth one was recovered in a stable condition after being transported for abrasions to the hospital.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission stated that the vessel was seen carrying six people, an adult female and five juveniles. Another update mentioned how all six individuals were found in the water and then transported to the local hospital for treatment.
Tragically, two of the victims were said to have succumbed to their injuries. Paramedics were seen performing chest compressions on at least one of the victims while several divers were seen inside the water off Hibiscus Island in Miami Beach.
