The movie Barbie is playing in cinemas and so far, the reviews have been nothing less than fabulous.
But one mother says she was shocked at what was on display, adding how it was inappropriate for young audiences, forcing her to step out of the cinema immediately with her 10-year-old girl.
The leading celeb from the world of acting, Juhi Parmar who hails from India says she was mortified when she watched some of the scenes from the Barbie movie. Clearly, this is not the type of behavior she was expecting from miles.
After all, she always associated the character with one that little girls grew up watching. Hence, it’s mindblowing for her to even think that the producers found it okay to make the firm suitable for younger audiences.
The actress reportedly took to her account on social media to share the news with her fans. She mentioned on Twitter how some of the intimate scenes and the s*xual connotations linked to the film were just not alright.
She had her young daughter by her side and that’s the last lesson that she would like to teach her, the star continued. But if you think she was praised for raising her voice, think again.
Juhi began the message by stating how she knows really well that many fans were not going to be happy with what she had to say about the film because of how viral it’s going across the boards.
The box office reviews are fabulous and viewers can’t get enough! But Juhi insisted that it’s up to parents to decide what’s best for their child and in her case, she’s giving it a thumbs down.
Her review was not appreciated one bit. People called the star out and bashed her for being delusional and seeing anything wrong with it was just out of the question.
They also said that the film is PG-13 so perhaps she should have thought about it before taking her young child into the cinema hall. What do you think?
I don’t have a child. However I loved playing with Barbie as a child.
I have no desire to watch it though. It looked way too pink.
The ads look too silly for me as well.
I saw the ads for the film and I agree. It looked to silly for me. Then when I read about the reviews, I definitely wouldn’t go, nor would I want my grandchild to see it.
Why can’t they label movies according to the content and give warnings, so people know what to expect.
Sounds like it should be rated R.
When I was growing up,movies were rated and there was a warning about sexual content etc.
They still do do ratings and under the ratings they say why (i.e sexual content, violence, language). Literally nothing has changed from what you said it was in your childhood, people just don’t use common sense and LOOK and then take their kid to a movie and act shocked when its inappropriate. If she had used her brain for a minute she would have spared herself and her child the hassle. Anything for attention though, I guess.
It is clearly listed as a PG-13 movie

The kids were crying because their parent pulled them out of a movie about their favotite doll.
That poor girl will probably be pregnant before she graduates high school.
It is rated PG-13 for a reason. I went with two teenage daughters and we had a good time, but the large group of 4-5 year olds in front of us clearly didn’t understand it and spent the movie eating ;). I was hoping they didn’t pick up any of the more mature words.
