Olympic gold medalist Imane Khelif just shared a defiant message about her Olympic achievements weeks after she was banned from the world of boxing in the women’s category in future games.
The boxer who hails from Algeria made headlines when she won the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics in the 66kg women’s category.
The star dominated the entire event, but that came with plenty of controversies across the board.
Away from the ring, many slammed her for taking part and accused her of being a man. Just recently, the head of the boxing association mentioned how it was time that she gave her gold medal back that she won at this year’s Paris Olympics. This is after her suspicious findings went public related to failed gender eligibility tests.
While the star has not chosen to directly hit back, just yet, her silence on the matter gives out a defiant response, and insiders claim she’s ready to sue each and every individual who has brought up the claims.
Her family is equally saddened by the manner in which she’s getting negative publicity, despite proving her gender through her birth certificate. Khelif has previously expressed dismay on the matter, adding how she won fair and square and nobody had the right to accuse her of something that she’s not.
