One woman is making plenty of people turn their heads with her bold statements in regards to splitting finances with her partner.
Shelly Horton says she’s had plenty of bad experiences with her previous relationships and for that reason, she doesn’t plan on splitting her finances with her husband.
“When my first marriage ended, it was pretty bad. And for me, it was a learning experience on what not to do in terms of splitting up your money with your husband,” she revealed boldly.
This woman says she will never have a joint bank account again and in the same way, she claims that keeping your husband’s finances separate is the key to a happy and successful marriage.
“It’s vital for a happy marriage. You need to say good-bye to that joint bank account,” she went on to claim.
Shelly says that while many people will disagree with her way of thinking, she doesn’t seem to mind because she’s seen it all and for that reason, she does not plan on repeating those mistakes again.
“It has absolutely nothing to do with greed but is instead all about independence,” she went on to explain.
Shelly adds that she certainly does not seem to want to have to ask her husband for a certain something all the time. “I don’t want him to be giving out permission for a certain dress that I wish to buy,” she revealed.
“I don’t want to ask him anything. I work really hard and therefore I am not entitled to obey anyone. But what I am entitled to is my own funds and that’s what I plan on keeping separate,” she explained.
While this couple do keep their funds separate, they know exactly where they both stand in terms of cash. “We know what the amount is now and what it will be when the other passes away,” they explained.
The couple concluded that it’s a clean and clear way of living and they are definitely sticking to it forever.
