Selena Gomez is hitting back at supermodel Hailey Bieber as a part of her response to what she perceived as a subtle jab from her.
This has to do in regards to their respective beauty brands. ‘Just leave the girl alone. She can say whatever she wants’- the singer added, reminding journalists that it does not affect her life whatsoever.
‘It’s just about relevance and not intelligence’- she continued. She also reminded her fans to be kind and that all brands inspire her. ‘There is room for everyone, and hopefully we can all stop this!’- she mentioned.
The news comes after Hailey, who is the founder of Rhode Beauty and married to Gomez’s ex Justin, was interviewed for WSJ Magazine’s Innovators issue. During that interview, she shared how she did not live by direct comparisons with Gomez’s Rare Beauty brand, mentioning that it’s always annoying to be pitted against other people.
“I did not ask for this, and I don’t feel competitive with people whom I am not inspired by,” she shared.
Although Hailey’s team mentioned her comments were not aimed directly at anyone, including Gomez, many people did feel it was indirectly hinted at. This is because of the long-standing public narrative of a feud between both sides, rooted in their different relationships with Justin.
