The Dallas Police Department mentioned that the emergency services were notified shortly after 9 am local time about a child who went missing from the Columbia River Hotel and Conference Center.
The toddler was visiting the area with family from Washington at the time, the cops shared. The child was only four years old, and he left the room and got outside the hotel, the officials claimed.
Local authorities responded to the area and began searching for the toddler, alongside family members.
The child was found inside the Columbia River, near the Oregon shoreline, as shared by the police.
The child was transported to Adventist Health Columbia George Hospital in The Dalles, and life-saving techniques were employed that turned out to be unsuccessful, as per the authorities.
