President Trump was asked on Monday if he thought it would have been fitting to lower the flags to half-staff when Minnesota state Rep.
Melissa Hortman, who was a Democrat, was murdered in her residence in June.
The question came after Trump directed that flags be flown at half-staff following the death of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk on September 10. After first mentioning how he was not familiar with her, he then appeared to recall her and mentioned that he would have lowered it in June if the governor of Minnesota had requested it.
President Donald Trump found it hard to get out of that sticky reporter situation and also found it hard to reply as to why he didn’t consider the Minnesota tragedy as great as this one.
He recently directed flags to be lowered following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.point 209 |
