Jennifer Aniston attended her long-time friend Mathew Perry’s funeral on Saturday, alongside other co-stars from the hit television series Friends.
The leading actress was known to be Perry’s good friend and confidant, not to mention how much Perry adored her and gave her credit for saving her life. But little did anyone know that after claiming such big words during one interview, a few months back, the star would be dead.
Matthew was found unresponsive inside his home’s hot tub and while the results of the autopsy are yet to be revealed, the suspected cause of his death is said to be accidental drowning.
Other leading names from the industry were also present including Matt Le Blanc, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, as well as his close loved ones. Moreover, the funeral and final rites ceremony was held at Hollywood’s popular cemetery where a long list of famous names happened to be buried.
A lot of people were just so overwhelmed by the emotions that they were feeling on this sad occasion but it was clear that Jennifer Aniston was struggling in this regard. She tried so hard to wipe her tears away and not cry but she couldn’t.
Insiders mentioned how the star did not speak or interact much with anyone and opted to stay close to herself during such a difficult time. Moreover, she was also said to be one of the first few people to arrive for her late friend Perry and just found it hard to come to terms with the reality that her close friend is no more.
The cemetery was located exactly opposite where the celebs spent a decade filming for Friends at the Warner Bros Studio.
Perry also gave credit to Aniston for reaching out the most and for keeping in touch with him when times were tough. And for that, he added how grateful he was that he could always lean on a friend like her.
