Tragic reports have confirmed the death of American singer and songwriter Angie Stone who passed away today at the age of 63.
According to local media outlets, the celeb died in a devastating car accident while on her way back from a performance in Alabama.
The late star’s representative spoke to media outlet TMZ and shared how she left the show in Montgomery, Alabama, during the early hours of Saturday morning when she was killed in the car crash.
Stone first rose to fame during the later 1970s as a member of the hip hop trio the Sequence. She happened to be the first all-female group signed to Sugar Hill Records.
She is survived by her son Michael Archer, her daughter Diamond Stone, and two grandkids. Media outlet WSF, which is based in Alabama, was the first to break the news about the accident that seemed to be the same one that took the star’s life.
The accident took place at 7 am local time and was said to involve a commercial vehicle.
