JUST IN: Blind Opera Legend Andrea Bocelli Rides A Horse Through New York City’s Central Park


Opera singer Andrea Bocelli was pictured riding through Central Park in New York City on Thursday.

The 64-year-old opera legend, who is blind, looked comfortable and confident as he sat on top of a white steed while galloping through the park with an escort.

For the occasion, the singer sported dark pants and a velvet blazer along with a black scarf and stylish shades.

The outing comes five years after Bocelli fell off his steed in Pisa, Italy. After the singer was airlifted to the hospital, he reassured his supporters and well-wishers that he felt great and that the fall was trivial.

“Dear friends, I would like to reassure you and tell you that I feel great: it was just a trivial fall from a horse,” he wrote.

The world-famous tenor previously also spoke out and admitted that riding means a lot to him because he’s loved taking on challenges even before he became blind at the age of 12.

“It’s my culture. I love the challenge. I made my parents suffer a lot when I was younger,” Bocelli previously told DailyMail.com.

“Every day I take risks with my life. With the bicycle, with the horses, in the sea, everywhere. I probably have an angel. A very careful guardian angel.”

Despite his disability, the opera singer has remained physically active and was previously spotted skiing, windsurfing, rollerblading, and riding a bike.

Bocelli’s appearance in the Big Apple comes as he and his wife Veronica arrived in the city to attend the premiere of the musician’s movie titled The Journey: A Music Special From Andrea Bocelli.
