Renowned actress Amy Schumer is said to be recovering from serious back surgery after undergoing a spinal procedure following a serious surfing injury.
The leading star shared images through her Instagram on Friday, where she stood with the help of a walker. ‘Since my surfing injury back in the day, my L5 is just killing me,’- she mentioned in the picture. ‘Today, I got a laminectomy! It’s short recovery and when I am feeling better, I will buy a bra!’- she chuckled.
As per the Mayo Clinic, this procedure is the name given to a surgical procedure to relieve pressure on the nerves by removing the arched back piece of the vertebrae.
The star seemed to be in great spirits following her procedure as she also shared a funny anecdote from her hospital bed through Instagram Stories.
‘Overheard post back surgery, ‘pickleball keeps this place in business,’- she mentioned in the selfie that was shared.
Schumer also mentioned how she’s no stranger to health conditions and was experiencing the most difficult pregnancy with her son in the past. At the time, she was said to be battling with hyperemesis gravidarum, which is a serious kind of morning sickness that lasts throughout pregnancy and usually needs some kind of hospitalization.
