AMBER Alert: The Search For 3-Year-Old Girl Who Disappeared From A Playground Near Her Home Continues


An Amber Alert has been issued after a 3-year-old girl went missing while playing at a playground near her home.

Little Lina Sardar Khil, a three-year-old daughter of Afghan refugees, disappeared from the playground located at the apartment complex in the 9400 block of Fredericksburg Road in San Antonio.

The young child was last seen on Monday afternoon when she was playing at the playground found at the Villas Del Cabo apartment complex where her family is staying.

On Monday night, hours after Lina’s disappearance, an Amber Alert has been issued. Though the description of a potential kidnapper has not yet been established, the disappearance is currently being investigated as a child abduction case.

Following the girl’s disappearance, the San Antonio Police have been working hard to bring the 3-year-old back home and reunite her with her family.

Police Chief William McManus has since also confirmed that the child went missing at around 5 to 6 pm on Monday.

It is believed that the girl’s mother briefly left the playground around that time as her daughter was playing with other children who were accompanied by adults.

“A short time later,” the mother allegedly returned to the playground only to find her daughter missing. Later, at around 7:15 pm, the family contacted the authorities and reported Lina’s disappearance.

As of this writing, it remains unclear why the 3-year-old was left unsupervised at the playground, but the police have confirmed that her family is cooperating with the investigation.

“We will continue this until, hopefully, we find Lina but we are not stopping,” McManus added.
