A terrifying incident has reportedly taken place at the Florida RV park where an alligator was seen biting off the leg of a 72-year-old man.
According to reports from local media outlets, the alligator was later spotted with the foot inside his jaws, putting officials on alert.
The horrifying incident took place at the Great Outdoors RV and Golf Resort in Titusville.
Sources revealed how the man was dragged into the waters by the gator who bit off his whole leg, from the knee downwards. Witnesses were quick to alert the cops and rescue officials who rushed to the scene.
They transferred him to a nearby medical facility and that’s where he received first aid treatment and immediate surgery for the horrifying injuries. But it was only moments later that the gator with his foot in his jaws was spotted by the emergency fire department which happened to be patrolling that area.
After the incident, the animal retreated back into the water but little did anyone know that the foot was still inside his mouth. And when the firefighter official noticed the obvious, he was quick to mention the news to others who were on alert.
The victim was reportedly airlifted after the tragedy and while this area is known to infested with gators, such attacks of this severity are rarely heard of.
The authorities have asked citizens in the community to be alert and steer clear of the area as more investigations into the matter continue.
As of now, the victim’s condition remains unclear and it’s not known if he will be able to walk again after the horrifying incident unfolding.
