Trump’s Pricey Plan for Alcatraz: How America’s Most Notorious Prison Will Cost ‘$75Million’ to Keep Open


President Trump has vowed to rebuild and open Alcatraz as he seeks to crack down on violent criminals and illegal migrants.

In a post that was shared to Truth Social on Sunday night, Trump mentioned the reopening of ALCATRAZ that would serve as a symbol of law, order, and justice.

Trump directed the Bureau of Prisons to work alongside the Department of Justice, the Homeland Security, and the FBI to reopen the massive and rebuild Alcatraz.

He mentioned how that notorious facility is where a famed gangster was once held, and now it would be home to America’s most ruthless and violent offenders.

The order arrives at a time when Trump has repeatedly clashed with the court as he tries to send accused gang members and illegal migrants to a notorious prison in El Salvador.

The maximum security prison that was shut down in 1963 would provide Trump a workaround to those court orders that bar him from carrying out mass deportation schemes.

‘We would no longer need to hold hostage criminals, things, and judges that are scared to do the job and allow them to remove criminals that came into the US illegally’- he shared.

So it appears that illegal migrants would be the first to be sent to that jail. Trump also directed the opening of the Guantanamo Bay detention center, which would hold up to 30k people, whom he slammed as the worst criminal aliens.
