Second Victim of Southend Airport Plane Crash Named as ‘Fantastic’ Paramedic Father as Probe into Tragedy Continues


The second victim of the Southend Airport plane crash incident has now been named.

He was identified as a wonderful and fantastic paramedic and father from Germany.

Dr. Matthias Eyl hailed from West Germany and was believed to be working as a paramedic and also employed as a doctor abroad for international flights for transporting patients, as shared by the German press.

A total of four people, all of whom were foreign nationals, passed away after the crash. The plane was reportedly on its way to the Netherlands, and it crashed and burned into flames, just a few moments after takeoff took place on Sunday.

It’s believed that this plane dropped off a patient at Southend and was said to return to its base in the Netherlands.

Two Dutch pilots and a nurse from Chile were among those on board the jet, which was identified as a Beechcraft B200 Super King Air as per a document that lists the passengers.

An earlier investigation shed light on the cause of this crash, and it’s still not revealed to the public what exactly made the plane crash.

Earlier, the first victim was named, who was a nurse who had reported for duty on her first day. She was Maria Ortiz, another citizen from Germany. A statement was shared on the tragedy by the German Red Cross, which mentioned how shocked and devastated they were to learn about this accident.
