A car ended up bursting into flames at Heathrow Airport.
Shocking footage showed the fire burning in 3 multi-story car park, which was evacuated as soon as the news broke out. The reports come as all four lanes of the M25 were shut down, cutting off access to the airport following an unrelated serious crash earlier this morning.
A man could be seen in this video, sitting in a nearby car as the fire roared. It’s not clear right now how it all began, but there are claims on X that the incident involved an electric car; no confirmation has been made regarding the news so far.
Further footage shared from outside showed smoke billowing into the sky. The incident has put travelers into panic as bus services announced that due to the fire at Heathrow, they would be starting and terminating from Terminal 5.
Another post explained how they would be unable to serve the Greenways stop or the Lees Road stop in both directions. Another spokesperson mentioned how earlier that morning, the teams responded to a small car fire in the Multi-Storey Car Park for Terminal 3.
This car park is now closed for the time being, and that could lead to congestion on the surrounding roads, authorities confirmed. The incident has been called out as an isolated one, and all other car parks at Heathrow were said to be operating normally as usual.
