Texas Congressman Tony Gonzales allegedly had an affair with a senior aide who passed away after dousing herself with gasoline and setting herself on fire, several sources have shared with the Daily Mail.
Regina Aviles poured gasoline over herself before becoming engulfed in flames at her residence in Texas, about two hours west of San Antonio.
The married mother of one, who was separated from her partner had served as Gonzales’ regional district director in Uvalde since the year 2021.
Sources shared how Aviles and the married congressman became so romantically involved after joining the staff on November 21, 2021. As per Gonzales spokesperson, there was no such thing and the accusations are baseless. He denied any kind of affair rumors and said it was just a speculation that has blown out of proportion.
One source added how their relationship continued for a while and that Aviles’ partner was aware of the relationship during the time of her death.
Two more separate sources also shared details about the alleged romantic relationship with Gonzales. The 43 year old Republican represents a vast district that stretches from San Antonio through Uvalde to El Paso and even covers some of the most volatile stretches of the US-Mexico border.
