Johnny Depp’s lawyers are making the rounds on various media channels for exclusive interviews, making sure they answer all the trending questions that are on so many people’s minds regarding the explosive trial.
Benjamin Chew who is Depp’s famous lawyer was questioned about his now-viral courtroom celebration where he can be seen as excited as ever, fist-bumping the actor while Amber Heard stood on the witness stand and provided her testimony.
That one incident was seen to be a highlight for many while others couldn’t help but wonder what was going through the lawyer’s mind during that time.
“There was definitely a moment that I lost my composure. And it wouldn’t be wrong to say that this was one of those points”- Chew revealed.
Speaking to Law&Crime recently, the lawyer says his viral courtroom celebration deserves a special mention because he knew that this was the turning point of the case for him. The duo had previously discussed and hoped that she would bring about these accusations against Depp which comprised of Heard accusing her former partner of pushing Kate Moss down the stairs.
“We all knew that was coming and we knew it was one of the huge lies that she would be introducing in the courtroom. Therefore, I just got a little carried away and fist-bumped Johnny because we knew it was coming”- Benjamin Chew revealed.
“There was also one point where Amber Heard did reveal that she punched Johnny Depp and that was the incident we liked to refer to as the staircase incident”- the famed lawyer continued.
Chew elaborated further on how he remembers Heard said to the courtroom that she was left with no choice but to punch Johnny Depp in the face or else he would have pushed her sister down the stairs as he did with Kate Moss during the duo’s vacation in Jamaica.
“My celebration was caught on camera and I was just so appalled that she would say this, it was the case’s turning point and I couldn’t control my excitement”- he revealed.
