Hollywood actress Barbra Streisand is opening up like never before seen in her latest memoir.
The leading legend of the industry and heartthrob of so many fans had people raising eyebrows when she refused to hold back and tell her side of the story including the deep grievances she has with the industry regarding the pay gap.
According to the celeb, she was paid less and experienced plenty of frustration regarding the situation while filming Meet The Fockers.
The famous romantic-themed comedy from the year 2004 had earned the star plenty of love and respect. It also featured some other top names from the showbiz world including the likes of Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Teri Polo, and Ben Stiller.
Moreover, the movie turned out to be a massive success and fans were in love with everything on display with each actor garnering love and appreciation, thanks to the film’s blockbuster show of performances.
But while everything appeared rosy on the forefront, behind the scenes was a whole different story altogether. The actress says she never knew that such a huge gap in payments would be made and it just disappointed her so bad.
The leading legend says this was the first time that she was learning about all of it and it made her so upset. “I never asked how much people were earning but it did end up hurting me when the truth was out there in the open.
But Dustin attaining a paycheck that was triple her value was just upsetting, she continued. Life is so unfair and then you’ve got to deal with pay disparity. It’s just annoying and I wish things were not this way, she added.
She did appreciate the fact that her fellow costar did realize where she was coming from and agreed that it was not fair on her part. “I deserve better, I worked the same hours and just as hard”- the legend revealed, leaving readers stunned.
