JUST IN: Legendary Actor & Artist David Gulpilil Passes Away At The Age Of 68


Legendary Australian actor and artist David Gulpili has died at the age of 68, after fighting a long battle with lung cancer.

The iconic indigenous actor from Australia enjoyed a well-renowned and successful acting career that spanned over 50 years, including some of the most famous films of all time.

This includes Walkabout, The Last Wave, Crocodile Dundee, Rabbit-Proof Fence, and The Tracker, amongst so many others.

The South Australian Prime Minister paid his condolences and tribute to a man that many recognized for his impeccable talent and extraordinary persona.

Many felt that his presence lit up the screens and gave movies that extraordinary touch.

The star was diagnosed with lung cancer in the year 2017.

A statement released by the South Australian Prime Minster stated how it was a moment of great sadness that such an iconic man had passed away, adding how he was a once-in-a-generation actor that spent his career trying to entertain the masses around the world.

He was an important individual who revived the art of Aboriginal cinema and Australian film where many recalled his performances after his death.

The star was raised in the most traditional of ways in Arnhem, after which he moved out to Murray Bridge. He was not only a loving father, husband, brother, son, friend but also a great grandfather too.

As can be expected, the news sent out a feeling of grief throughout Australia, as many recalled a man that wasn’t just an actor but a singer, dancer, and painter too. Moreover, some even hailed him to be one of the best artists that the country had ever laid its eyes on.

In the year 1987, David Gulpilil was even mentioned on the Queen’s list of birthday honors, where he was awarded the title of being the Member of the Order of Australia.
