Eight years after a Maine mom lost her young son in a canoeing accident, she narrowly managed to survive a hit-and-run incident that killed her two-year-old baby.
Now, the mother is opening up about how she’s facing a difficult recovery. Mollie Egold shared more details about how she was pushing her twin sons in a stroller. This is when they were struck by a vehicle on July 11 as per the Maine State Police.
One of the children was pronounced dead, while the other, named Noah, passed away inside the hospital.
The horrific crash came nearly a decade after Egold then then-5-year-old son William, passed away after the boat he was riding in went over a waterfall. Egold is now set to return home after spending two months in the hospital. The paper interviewed a family friend who lives with Egold and her surviving 6-year-old son, named Connor Bordeaux.
The whole thing was called out as a brutal nightmare, as per the paper. Egold suffered from several serious injuries, including two broken hips and a broken leg with a piece of glass embedded in the spine.
The grieving mother is now walking under her own power, but she misses her kids so much. Emotionally, she says that this is the best she can do, but it’s not what she had ever imagined. ‘It’s been a nightmare for us all,’ she shared. The loss of her kids and now her injuries have really taken a negative toll on her life, and now she’s struggling to keep up.
